Egotrippi embarks on their first club tour in seven years – new music coming early next year!
The beloved Finnish band Egotrippi, known for numerous hits, will head out on their first club tour since 2018 in the spring of 2026. The tour, covering nearly twenty shows, is titled “Jossain täytyy olla päivänvaloo” (“There Must Be Daylight Somewhere”) after the band’s new song to be released early next year. Both the single and the tour will showcase Egotrippi’s refreshed yet classic lineup following a recent lineup change. Ticket sales for the tour start today.
Known for hits such as Matkustaja, Mestaripiirros, Unihiekkaa and Älä koskaan ikinä, the band will release new music at the beginning of next year for the first time in seven years. The upcoming single “Jossain täytyy olla päivänvaloo” paves the way for the spring tour, which kicks off on Friday, March 6 in Rauma and concludes on Saturday, May 9 in Pieksämäki.
“We can’t wait to get back to the clubs – we’re heading full speed toward summer and light!” the band says.
The spring tour and new single will feature Egotrippi in its new formation. Risto Niinikoski, who played drums in the band since 2013, has stepped down, and Sampo Haapaniemi, who was part of Egotrippi from 1996 to 2013, returns behind the kit. Next year marks the 30th anniversary of Haapaniemi’s first joining the band.
“Exactly 29 years ago, I met these guys for the first time, and that was the start of quite a journey — countless gigs, records, and big hits, but above all, making music together, which shaped me into the musician I am today. When Risto announced he was leaving and I was asked to rejoin, I didn’t have to think twice. Here we go again!” Haapaniemi says.
Having achieved double platinum, platinum, and gold records over their career, Egotrippi released their debut album in 1995. The band’s last new music came out in 2018 with the Vihellellen EP. In 2020, they released Aina matkalla jonnekin, an album featuring 13 Egotrippi classics arranged for symphony orchestra. In autumn 2025, audiences have also enjoyed new versions of Egotrippi songs and Mikki Kauste’s interpretations on the TV show Vain elämää (“Only Life”).
